Dick is a draftsman and painter. He uses many of his drawings as a starting point for a painting.
But he often also develops them further into an independant work of art.
In his drawings, Dick uses pencils of different hardnesses in order to capture all tonal values.
As a painter he works with watercoler and acrylic paint.
He finds his themes effortlessly on the mudflats and along the extensive beaches of Denmark.
This is where its slenders, dunes, the dry mud flats and the endless clouds originate.
In his figurative, sometimes realistic work, he seeks the silence in the landscape.
There is emptiness but no baldness in Dick’s work. There is a palpable silence. Where can we still find them?
